Resident of South Ossetia detained in Georgia is back at large

Yesterday, on December 23, Radislav Kachmazov, a resident of South Ossetia, who was detained a day earlier in Georgia, was released.

"The negotiations with the Georgian party on his liberation were conducted also by Merab Chigoev, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Republic South Ossetia (RSO) on Post-Conflict Settlement, and a representative of the Frontier Service of the KGB of the RSO. The negotiations were successful, and Kachmazov was released last night," the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia reports.

Let us remind you that on December 22 two residents of the town of Kvaisa in South Ossetia Pridon and Radislav Kachmazov mixed up the direction of movement and drove towards the Georgian village of Adzvi, the Gori District of Georgia.

They were stopped for document check; after which one of them got back into the car and drove away, as reported by the "Georgian Times" with reference to the Georgian MIA. The whereabouts of the second one - Radislav Kachmazov - was not reported. The IA "Res" reports that the law enforcement authorities of South Ossetia were immediately notified about the incident.

According to the Georgian party, Pridon and Radislav Kachmazov are employees of the "Spetsstroy of Russia". As explained by the MIA of South Ossetia, the residents of Kvaisa perform ancillary works at construction of the frontier unit settlement in the village of Artsevi, Tskhinvali District of South Ossetia.
