A defendant in Nalchik attack case released from custody

Zalim Ulimbashev, one of the figurants in the case dealing with the attack on Nalchik in 2005, was released right in the courtroom under recognizance not to leave because of his health problems.

Another defendant - Kazbek Budtuev - was extended the same freedom restriction regime. The remaining 56 defendants will have their custody extended - as the court had ruled - for other three months - till March 26, 2011, the "Interfax" reports.

Let us remind you that the prosecution demanded to leave all the 57 defendants behind bars and also to put Budtuev back there too. Budtuev was placed under home arrest on June 21 after five years in custody. The state prosecution tried to contest the change of Kazbek Budtuev's regime, but the Russian Supreme Court upheld the decision not to return him to custody.
