Students of North Ossetia condemn extremist manifestations in Moscow

Students-activists of North Ossetia are troubled of the situation in Moscow and promulgated an appeal today, expressing strong condemnation of the recent youth's extremist actions.

"We, students - Ossetians and Russians, Armenians and Georgians, Kabardians, Dagestanis, Jews, Greeks and representatives of many other nations - appeal to the reason and sense of responsibility of young people and students, the journalistic community and the authorities, and to all citizens of Russia. Evil only begets greater evil; and the chain of retaliation may drag on endlessly - until the last of the rivals remains alone. Let us ask ourselves: do we want it? Do we want to multiply the list of casualties, where any of us and any of our relatives may occur?" the appeal runs.

Students claim that the conflict is provoked not by its direct participants, but by the third - interested - party.

"Those, who have launched these riots by manipulating our feelings, want to clash us with each other. They rake ashes with our hands and watch with pleasure from aside how we get burns," runs the students' appeal.

According to Azamat Gagloev, a member of the initiative group, the appeal was supported by the Association, which unites 40 universities, where more than 100,000 students study.
