Official Tbilisi disappointed with the 14th round of Geneva talks

In the opinion of Giga Bokeriya, head of the Georgian delegation, the 14th round of Geneva talks was actually fruitless.

"We are deeply disappointed with this round of Geneva debates; first of all because we heard the refusal of the Russian Federation to make a statement about the non-use of force against Georgia," said Mr Bokeriya.

The Georgian delegation had expected a clear position of the co-chairs on the fact that Russia is a party of the conflict, and the Sarkozy-Medvedev peace agreement remains unfulfilled. "We are saddened that the co-chairs failed to demonstrate their firm stance on this topic; and it's very annoying," said Giga Bokeriya, as reported by the "IPN".

In its turn, the Russian party claims the unconstructive position of Georgia, which "prevented from attaining the results during the next round of international discussions on security and stability in the Caucasus," Alexei Sazonov, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, told journalists at a briefing.

Mr Sazonov has noted that the Georgian delegation had "virtually ignored" the statements of Presidents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia about refusal to use force and threats of force in resolving conflicts, the "RBC" reports.

The next - 15th - round of discussions will be held on March 4, 2011.
