In Dagestan, locals fear of encroachment on their rights in construction of "Lazurny Bereg"

Residents of Dagestan express their concern that their houses and shops may be demolished in the process of construction of the resort town-satellite "Lazurny Bereg" (Cote d'Azur) near Makhachkala.

Currently, the project of the future satellite city has been developed by the Chinese design institute "Dalian Tian-Gong" and is now under examination to be completed before the end of this year.

The total investments into development of the world-level resort "Lazurny Bereg" to appear on the shore of the Caspian Sea in Dagestan will make 150 billion roubles. The entire project will be implemented on the money of private investors. It is expected that the project will be implemented by 2017, and its payback period will make 8 years.

Meanwhile, some owners of houses retail outlets, which can get into the construction zone, fear that they will not get compensations for possible demolition of their premises.

"As always, they will say that we have wrong documents, and our constructions are illegal," said Ahmed, a resident of Makhachkala. "Almost the entire coastline has been sold out for building mansions; and who needs this broadly advertised project?"

The project is managed by the LLC "Makhachkalinskoye Vzmorie". The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent tried to find out from the Company's CEO Zukhra Magomedova, how they will deal with the residents, whose houses get into the construction zone of the "Lazurny Bereg".

For several weeks her secretary, referring to Ms Magomedova busy time, refused to connect with her. A written request of the "Caucasian Knot" is still unanswered.

Let us remind you that the project "Lazurny Bereg" assumes construction of a large residential and commercial component, as well as development of the resort infrastructure.
