Beating of Khasavyurt resident by power agents is investigated in Dagestan

On the fact of violent beating on November 8 by employees of the Kizilyurt ROVD (District Interior Division) of Murtazali Adukhov, a resident of Khasavyurt, a criminal case was initiated and is now investigated. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it today by Shamil Adukhov, Murtazali's brother.

"Today I had a meeting with Yusef Pirov, a senior investigator of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of Dagestan for the Kizilyurt District. He said that in relation to my brother's beating a criminal case was opened under point "a", Part 3, Article 286, of the Russian Criminal Code (abuse of power with use of violence or threat of violence). The case was opened on the basis of our complaint," said Shamil Adukhov.

On November 13, the website of Dagestani Prosecutor's Office published an article "On Results of Checking Arguments of Certain Articles Published by 'Caucasian Knot'".

It follows from the decision of the ICPO for Dagestan that the above criminal case was opened against "unidentified employees of the Kizilyurt ROVD named Rustam and Pakhrudin." The victim is now at inpatient treatment in hospital of Khasavyurt; doctors treat his health condition as moderately grave: Murtazali Adukhov was diagnosed brain concussion and multiple contusions of the body and kidneys.
