North Ossetia opens centre for disabled children

On November 19, the capital of North Ossetia started a daytime care centre for children suffering from cerebral palsy and Down's syndrome.

The new specialized institution has the name "House of the Sun" and can house 50 children, who will receive complex medical and rehabilitation treatment and care through the purchased modern equipment.

According to Zhanna Gasieva, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Development of North Ossetia, the new centre will help in solving a serious problem: "Now, parents of such patients may not worry about their kids; many of them will be able to find jobs."

The new centre will treat children and adapt them to life. "Moreover, we'll also teach parents how to communicate with their children and properly educate them," said Ms Gasieva.

According to her story, the invited experienced specialists will teach children to talk, hold the fork and spoon and cultivate sustainable behaviour in everyday life.
