Rostov Region: director of building company suspected of embezzlement

The Prosecutor's Office of the city of Bataisk, Rostov Region, has sent to the court the criminal case initiated against the builder Larissa Tarasenkova, accused of embezzlement of equity holders' money in the sum of more than 30 million roubles.

"L. Tarasenkova has appropriated 31 million roubles received from 23 real estate investors for building two dwelling houses," the Rostov Regional Prosecutor's Office reports.

As established by the investigation, in the period from December 2005 to December 2009, the defendant signed contracts with a number of residents of the Rostov Region on joint construction of two apartment houses in Bataisk. She undertook to provide them with apartments after the construction of the houses, the RBC reports.

According to the materials of the inquiry, the defendant, after having built one house, did not even start the second one, and just stole the people's money, the "Interfax" reports.
