Detainee reports about bomb in Grozny; later it was neutralized

Today a powerful explosive device was neutralized by Chechen law enforcers in the Staropromyslovsky District of Grozny. The republic's MIA asserts that the location of the hideout with a fougasse was shown by a local resident detained on suspicion of helping militants.

The hideout with a bomb was found buried into the ground in Korolenko Street of Katayama settlement of the Staropromyslovsky District of Grozny by the employees of the local ROVD (District Interior Division), ORB-2 (operative-search bureau), "Terek" special-purpose unit of the Chief Department of Russian MIA for the NCFD (North-Caucasian Federal District) and PPS-2 (patrol and post service) regiment of the Chechen MIA.

"The self-made fougasse consisted of a plastic bucket filled with the explosive equivalent in its power to five kilograms of TNT (trotyl). The explosive experts destroyed the bomb by detonating it," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at local law enforcement agencies.

According to the source, the location of the bomb was shown by a resident of the Staropromyslovsky District, who was detained on suspicion of helping the members of the armed underground.
