In Georgia, shopping centre securities beat journalists and break cameras

On October 21, security agents of the shopping centre in Lilo broke video camera of Georgian TV channels and beat journalists who came to cover the fact of closing a number of commercial objects and the related protest action of traders.

As stated in the message of the NGO "House of Free Thought" disseminated today, the employees of TV Companies "Kavkasiya", "Internet TV", "Ai-TV and of other media suffered.

The "House of Free Thought" has demanded to immediately open a criminal case and launch investigation.

On Thursday, October 21, in the above trading centre officials from the Revenue Service closed and sealed up 15 shops. Then, entrepreneurs voiced their protest in the course of a spontaneous action, the IA "News-Georgia" reports.

Leaders of several opposition parties came to the place to support the protesters. Lasha Chkhartishvili, a representative of the "National Forum", was detained by the police, the "GHN" reports.
