Anti-terror rally failed in Vladikavkaz

The non-sanctioned anti-terrorism rally expected today in the capital of North Ossetia was disrupted by interference of local law enforcers, said one of women-organizers, who preferred to remain anonymous.

"We had planned to hold a mass rally, but people were intimidated. Our guys didn't come, because not everybody wants to deal with law enforcement agencies and create problems to parents. Practically all of us received warnings. People were visited at their homes and asked not to raise unrest. I was personally asked not to take part in the event," said the girl.

"We wanted to express our opinions, but it was suppressed. We did not expect this sort of reaction from the authorities. We aren't demanding their resignation; however, we want to ask them what illegal we have done and are doing. We don't do anything that they treat our youth in this way," she emphasized, referring to the ban to hold the rally.

"After the rally held on September 15, those who were there paid quite a lot for it. One of the speakers there - Azamat Aguzarov - was detained and threatened with a criminal case under the article of extremism. One of our participants - Zalina - is under home arrest. She was openly threatened for posting photos showing detention of Azamat Aguzarov on the Internet. They had to give subscriptions that they would not take part in such actions," said the organizer.
