All referees of the top football league disqualified in Armenia
Following the meeting of Ruben Airapetyan, President of the Armenian Football Federation (AFF), with the leaders of the clubs of the local top league, a decision was made to disqualify all the referees who serviced the league matches.
"The Federation President said that he was displeased with the work of the referees at the matches of the top league of the championship of Armenia (now, they play the 23rd round in the top league, - note of the "Caucasian Knot")," explained the press officer of the FFA Tigran Israelyan. "He told the clubs managers about his decision, given the created difficult situation, to dismiss these referees and never appoint them to the top league matches."
According to the source, so as not to jeopardize the championship, Mr Airapetyan suggested to appoint referees from children and youth tournaments to service the top league matches, while expressing hope that they will seek to conduct matches as unbiased as possible and take the opportunity of career growth, the "PanARMENIAN.Net" writes.
Refereeing of latest top league matches in Armenia has caused many disputes. In the match of the leader - Club "Banants" from Yerevan - with Club "Mika" from the same city the referee cancelled two goals scored by "Mika" and put two penalty kicks in favour of "Banants". Ararat Chagaryan, head of the FFA Referee Committee, has admitted that the referee was wrong at least on one occasion of cancelling a goal scored by "Mika", the RIA "Novosti" reports.
