Court of Lausanne acknowledged lawfulness of Iliumjinov's nomination for the position of Head of FIDE

International sports court of arbitration has declined Garry Kasparov's and Anatoly Karpov's suits on unlawfulness of nomination of Kirsan Iliumjinov, President of FIDE, by the Russian Chess Federation for the next term at this position and his registration as nominee for FIDE presidency. The news was reported on September, 27 by Kirsan Iliumjinov himself.

We will remind that the claimants including chess federations of the USA, France, Germany, Switzerland and Ukraine are disputing the lawfulness of Iliumjinov's nomination by national chess federations of Russia, Argentina and Mexico. They are also contesting Beatrice Marinello's nomination for the position of vice-president in Kirsan Iliumjinov's team.

He reminded that Karpov has been nominated candidate of FIDE President by the Chess Federation of the USA.

"Interfax" reports the election of FIDE President is expected to be held on September, 29, in Khanti-Mansiisk.
