Polish Public prosecutor's office appealed against Ahmed Zakaev's release

The Warsaw district Public prosecutor's office has appealed against the verdict of the court which had refused temporary arrest of Ahmed Zakaev, emissary of Chechen separatists, Monica Levandovskaya, press secretary of the office, reported on September, 23.

According to Levandovskaya, the Polish Public prosecutor's office on Thursday, September, 23, submitted a cassation statement to the Appellate Court objecting to Zakaev's release, Russian service of BBC reports.

The Warsaw Public prosecutor's office is now studying the request for Zakaev's extradition which has come from Russia. The Russian Attorney General's has demanded from Poland to extradite Ahmed Zakaev formerly detained in the territory of this state and promised to provide him in Russia treatment meeting the international standards.

Moscow has repeatedly been seeking for the extradition of Zakaev who is currently staying in Great Britain to Russia but all these attempts have been ineffective.
