Lawyer Tagirova, beaten in Dagestan, states that inspector involves false witnesses

Lawyer Dzhamilya Tagirova, who was beaten by Kerim Mazaev, an inspector of the Sovietskiy ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala, in his study, has revealed that certain militiamen appeared in the criminal case, who had allegedly been eyewitnesses of the incident and evidenced that it was the lawyer who had attacked the inspector.

Let us remind you that Dzhamilya Tagirova, a lawyer of the Dagestan Specialized Bar was beaten in the inspector's study on July 2, 2010.

Advocate Rasul Kadiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that over a week ago inspector Mazaev had apologized to lawyer Tagirova; and she notified in writing the inspector who is investigating the incident about it.

However, on September 21, while studying the materials of the case, Tagirova found that the inspector, who is running the case against Mazaev, interrogated three workers of the Sovietskiy ROVD of Makhachkala - Gitinov, Dashtimirov and Babaev, who had allegedly been eyewitnesses of the incident. One of them, according to their evidences, was in the study, and two others - in the corridor.

All the three militiamen has evidenced that it was Tagirova who attacked inspector Mazaeva and offended it. They also said that inspector Mazaev did not beat lawyer Tagirova.

Her colleague Rasul Kadiev has stated that it is difficult to believe that neither lawyer Tagirova nor her client failed to notice another person present in the inspector's study.

Mr Kadiev believes that this tactics may deprive the three workers of the ROVD of their shoulder straps, since a criminal case should be initiated against them under the article of "false witness".

Law enforcement bodies refuse to give any comments until the investigation of the case is over.
