Danish police suspect a Chechen of organizing explosion in Copenhagen

A native of Chechnya, aged 24, suspected of committing the explosion in one of hotels in Copenhagen on September 10, was detained In Denmark. A map was found on him of the second-largest Danish city of Arhus, where the address of the editorial board of the newspaper "Jyllands-Posten", which published 12 caricatures on Prophet Mohammed in 2005, was marked.

A low-power explosive item was triggered in a toilet room of a Copenhagen hotel. According to Danish mass media, the explosion happened too early, probably, when the terrorist was assembling the bomb. He was the only victim: his face was damaged with splinters.

The incident was classified as preparation for a terror act against the "Jyllands-Posten"; and the map of Arhus was the main proof.

The detainee rejects his guilt, but the observation camera fixed him enter the toilet booth and quit it shortly before the explosion.

The suspect was identified not at once. The documents found on him were false; and he refused to name himself. However, shortly after his photo was spread over the EU countries, a boxing coach from Belgium said that he recognized him as Lors Dukaev, 24, who visited his boxing hall in Liege. According to the coach, Lors moved to Europe with his relatives in the age of 12, the Norwegian newspaper "Klar Tale" writes.

Information about the suspect was also provided by Norbert Nelles, dean of the architectural higher school named "Institut Superior d'Architecture Saint-Luc", who said that Dukaev was a student there for two semesters. Mr Nelles also said Lors lost his leg in Chechnya in the age of 12, when he stepped on a mine. Since then, Dukaev uses a prosthesis, the "Jyllands-Posten" writes.
