Aslambek Kekharsaev: Zakaev is already in Warsaw

By now, the presence in Poland of Ahmed Zakaev, emissary of Chechen separatists, who is in international search, has been confirmed by his assistant Aslambek Kekharsaev, representative of the government of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in Poland, who had earlier refuted the information that appeared in the morning in Polish media that Zakaev had already arrived in Warsaw.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning some Polish media placed information referring to some anonymous sources that Zakaev is already in Poland, where the World Congress of Chechen People has opened today. However, Mr Kekharsaev said later that this information was not correct.

"I can now confirm to you that Ahmed Zakaev is already in Poland, in Warsaw," Kekharsaev said in the evening on September 16.

At the same time, the emissary's assistant did not specify for how long Zakaev has already been in Warsaw.

It is expected that Zakaev will appear at the Congress in Pultusk tomorrow morning.

The information that Zakaev is in Poland was also confirmed by Denis Teps, a representative of the organizers of the congress. According to his version, Zakaev is in one of Warsaw hotels, but he did not specify how Zakaev had crossed the Polish border, the "Lenta.ru" writes with reference to Polish media.

At the same time, information appeared about detention of Ahmed Zakaev's son - Adam Borovski. This was reported by Alimpasha Soltukhanov, deputy chairman of the government of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.

"The car with Adam Borovski, Ahmed Zakaev's son, who was on his way to the congress, was detained by Polish police for examination and check of documents," said Soltukhanov and emphasized that Zakaev himself was at large.
