"Those who throw corn ears on beaches will be fined by 500 laris or arrested for 24 hours under administrative procedure. Strict measures will be applied against infringers; however we'll remain within the European Convention and other international norms," Mr Saakashvili has stated and noted that the unclean Batumi won't be attractive for tourists.

According to the Georgian President, "chewing gum dropped on the ground won't be fined, but cellophane bags, glass splinters, corn and other garbage will be strictly punished," the "Georgia Online" reports.

The measures will be especially topical in 2012, when the beaches Adzharia will become sandy. Under the statement of President of Georgia, then, the "golden sand" will be placed along the Batumi coastal line. Besides, the beaches will be fenced, the "Business-Georgia".
