SC commutes sentence to leader of "White Wolves" grouping

Today, the Supreme Court (SC) of the Russian Federation has commuted verdicts to two members of the "White wolves" grouping sentenced for nationalism-inspired murders. Alexei Dzhavakhishvili, leader of a grouping, will leave colony one year earlier - after six years.

The term reduction took place because the SC has excluded the article of "kindling of national hatred" out of his charge. Another figurant of the case - Alexander Solovyov - has his term dropped from 9 to 8.5 years, as the limitation period has expired under the incriminated article of theft.

Besides, the court has changed the verdict to Ivan Strelnikov, who, upon reaching the age of 18, was transferred from the upbringing colony into a corrective one.

In all the remaining points the verdict of the Moscow City Court, passed on the basis of the opinion of jurymen, was upheld by the SC, the ITAR-TASS reports.
