In Georgia, relatives of seamen kidnapped in Gulf of Aden know details from journalists

Nobody has officially contacted yet the families of the Georgian seamen captured by pirates in the Gulf of Aden: neither Georgian authorities and nor the company-employer, say the relatives. In its turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has stated that they "actively work" with the fact of kidnapping.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that in the morning on September 8 Somalia pirates captured the tanker "Oilb G" in the Gulf of Aden, sailing under the guise of Malta. The crew of the vessel consists of 15 citizens of Georgia and three citizens of Turkey.

The wife of Timur Bedinadze, 62, chief mechanic of the ship, said that she had learnt about the incident from journalists and now has no more information about the fate of her husband. The woman has addressed everyone capable to influence the situation asking them to make everything possible towards releasing the seamen and keep their families informed, the IA "News-Georgia" reports.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has stated that it actively works on the fact of kidnapping of Georgian citizens and clarifies information about their state of affairs. According to the Ministry, the details of the kidnapping and the seamen's fate will be known later.
