Killers of tourists and militiamen in Kabardino-Balkaria pretended to be power agents

The unidentified persons, who committed attacks in the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria on militiamen and tourists, were dressed in camouflage and presented themselves as employees of Moscow special agencies. This was reported by the centre of law enforcement bodies of the republic.

"It has been established that the criminals name themselves as employees of Moscow special agencies. They suddenly appear in vacation places and demand to present documents for check. The militiamen shot dead by them presented themselves thinking that they deal with their colleagues," runs the statement of law enforcement bodies of Kabardino-Balkaria.

Meanwhile the website representing the Kabardino-Balkarian sector of "Imarat Kavkaz" placed a statement running that the murder of a tourist and a militiaman in Kendelen village on August 19 was committed by a group of "mujahads" (the way militants of "Imarat" name themselves, - comment of the "Caucasian Knot"), who found a group of tourists drinking alcohol and decided to check the IDs of the " evildoers"; they revealed an employee of law enforcement bodies and shot him dead, and also Veremeyev. The latter was treated as the killed militiaman's "accomplice" in the militants' statement.
