Authorities of Rostov Region object to transfer of "Azov-City" to Anapa

The offer put forward by the authorities of the Krasnodar Territory to move the gambling zone "Azov-City" to Anapa was negatively perceived by their counterparts in the Rostov Region, who believe that it will poke away investors and damage the business.

Vasily Golubev, Governor of the Rostov Region, made comments to journalists on the intention of the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory to "land" the gambling zone "Azov-City" near the city of Anapa. "Maybe, the Duma of the Krasnodar Territory has the right to bring any offers to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. But I think that it should be first coordinated with the leadership of the Rostov Region and Krasnodar Territory."

According to Vladimir Bartenyev, Minister of Economy of the Rostov Region, the regional authorities are already using their best efforts that the Krasnodar legislative initiative remains just in their imagination, the Rostov News Agency reports.

The issue of the expediency of existence of the gambling zone "Azov-City" in its present location - in the border of the Rostov Region and Krasnodar Territory - was raised by Alexander Tkachov, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory. In his opinion, the only currently existing gambling zone - the "Azov-City" - should be liquidated, as its remoteness from dwelling settlements prevents attracting both gamblers and investors; the new one should be opened in Anapa, the "Kommersant" writes.
