Ingush authorities refute data about mass protest action in Magas

Residents of Ingushetia Ibragim Tachiev and Zalimkhan Mutsolgov were detained on August 5 by law enforcers on suspicion of complicity to members of the armed underground, and now operative-investigatory actions are undertaken in their relation. This was stated by Bekkhan Atigov, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Ingushetia.

According to his story, should no accusations be presented, the detainees will be released. Mr Atigov also asserts that no protest action was ever held near the House of Government in the city of Magas. "Some women came there - mothers and wives of the detainees. I met them several times and explained the situation," he said.

Mr Atigov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the situation with the detainees would clear up in "in a day or two"; however, he could not tell for sure, where Tachiev and Mutsolgov were kept.
