Fuad Gakhramanly: detainees for participation in Saturday's action in Baku are insulted
As stated to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Fuad Gakhramanly, deputy chair of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), the participants of the Saturday's action of the opposition, who had been sentenced to administrative arrest in Baku, are exposed to insults and pressure.
According to his story, on August 2 several persons in civilian clothes appeared in the temporary custody facility of the Binagadin District, where the participants of the oppositional protest action are kept and began offending them.
In protest against such treatment the detainees refused to take food, said Mr Gakhramanly. He has noted that human rights defenders and the Ombudsman were informed about the incident.
In his turn, Arif Gadjily, head of the central office of the "Musavat" Party, said that before the incident the administration of the temporary custody facility refused to take a food parcel for the detainees.
Elchin Bekhbudov, Chairman of the Committee against Torture, told about his intention to visit the detainees and clear out the situation.
The central police administration of the city of Baku and the administration of the custody facility refused to answer any questions about the oppositionists' statement.
