Russian Supreme Court cancels ban on BEBP

The Supreme Court of the Russia Federation has satisfied the cassation complaint lodged by the Board of Elders of the Balkar People (BEBP) with a request to cancel the decision of the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria prescribing to ban the Board. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the BEBP that the Russian Supreme Court decided to stop the case.

"This decision indicates that we had acted under the law; and now the law defends us," Oyus Gurtuev, one of the leaders of the BEBP, expressed his satisfaction with the decision of the Russian Supreme Court.

Let us remind you that on May 31 the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria ruled to liquidate the BEBP because of its extremist activities.
