Militia: fight in camp "Don" had domestic motives

The investigatory bodies of the Tuapse District of the Krasnodar Territory believe that the fight in the children's health-improving camp "Don" between local and Chechen teenagers had domestic grounds. Nine persons addressed for medical aid.

"Under preliminary data, the conflict burst out on Sunday because of misunderstanding that arose in one of the sleeping blocks cases between a girl-tourist from Rostov Region aged 16, and visitors of the camp - teenagers from Chechnya aged 14-15, who, most likely, wanted to get acquainted with her," the district UVD (Interior Department) has reported.

They noted that the girl did not like their intention, and she told about it to deputy director of the camp, who asked the teenagers to behave correctly and leave the sleeping block.

"Then, supposedly, a conflict burst out between the Chechen teenagers and their senior comrades, on the one hand, and the deputy director and his young supporters - on the other hand. They quarrelled; it happens; and there was no national factor involved," the "Interfax" was told at the UVD.

The Regional GUVD (Chief Interior Department) has added that the quick arrival of militiamen prevented a mass fight.

As a result of the conflict, nine person, including the deputy director of the camp, addressed the trauma point of the Novomikhailovka hospital with grazes and bruises. A criminal case was opened on the fact of the fight by the UVD under the article of "hooliganism".

In his turn, Nurdi Nukhazhiev, Ombudsman in Chechnya, said that Chechen teenagers were beaten. "According to our data, at night on July 25 a crowd of local residents attacked and beat Chechen children; as a result, seven teenagers and coaches of the youth national team of Chechnya, including group coach Ruslan Ginazov, 60, who were at rest in the camp, were hospitalized in Tuapse in grave condition," said the Ombudsman. He asserts that the deputy director of camp was the instigator of the fight, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
