Krasnodar: rights defenders against "propaganda of unisex love" on TV

Since July 12, human rights activists are gaining subscriptions under petition against appearance on the TV channel "New Kuban Television" (NKT) of reports, which advertise, in their opinion, unisex love and intimate services.

According to Albert Gaiamyan, initiator of the campaign and director of the Human Rights Committee "Presumption", at present they have gained about one hundred subscriptions in the capital of Kuban (another name of the Krasnodar Territory by its main river, - note of the "Caucasian Knot"), and in the next few days other cities of the Territory will be join the campaign.

Human rights activists ask, in particular, that a moderator of the TV chat, launched by the NKT every day after 10:00 p.m. should appear and delete SMS messages, where authors are looking for unisex partner or couple. The protesters are sure that such messages propagandize unisex relations in the society.

"We don't demand deleting all acquaintance messages," Mr Gaiamyan has emphasized. "Announcements of the type 'man looks for a woman' or vice versa are quite acceptable. They are natural for a human. We ask not to admit what is against human nature."

The campaigners plan to send their collective petition accompanied by gained subscriptions to the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachov.
