Rostov opposition to hold Day of Anger

The opposition-minded community of Rostov-on-Don has announced its intention to hold a city action, Day of Anger. The event is planned for June 7 at 18.00 p.m, reports political scientist Sergei Reznik, one of the event organizers, independent journalist, to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The "Left Front" filed a notification at the city administration on June 23. The main slogan will be: "We do not want to feed Chub!"

The slogan is connected with the dissatisfaction of the oblast residents about the law "On the Guarantees to Head of Administration of Rostov Oblast" signed by Governor Golubev. In accordance with the document, subsistence of the former governor Vladimir Chub and his family will cost the regional budget 9.2 million rubles per year.

Representatives of all opposition parties and movements (ROTFront, UCF, "Solidarnost", CPRF, "Fair Russia" and others), as well as automobile drivers, Rostov independent trade unions, deceived interest-holders and simply tax-payers at whose cost the oblast budget is formed, are invited to take part in the action. The "Fair Russia" has already refused to participate saying that they do not want to go to the square "together with the leftists".

The action organizers claim that Day of Anger has no relation to political parties, it is a civil event and can be participated by people of different political views. The action is planned to be held on the square in front of the oblast administration. The participants will demand invalidation of the law.

Activists of public organizations have earlier started collecting signatures against the law under the letter addressed to the president of Russia. As of today, more than eight thousand people have signed the letter.
