Oniani accused of kidnapping in RF refuses to give evidence

Tariel Mulukhov (Oniani), born in Georgia, accused of kidnapping in Russia considers the case file containing materials on the actions incriminating him as framed and refuses to give evidence in court.

For reference, Khamovniki district court of Moscow started consideration of the case of Oniani and other persons accused of kidnapping on its merits, on April 20. After the prosecutor announced the indictment Oniani himself declared that he did not recognize the event itself, while the two other defendants pleaded not guilty.

"I consider my accusation of kidnapping fully framed. I repeat that I am not guilty. I appeal for release. I am not going to give any further evidence", declared Mulukhov on June 28 at the hearting in Khamovniki district court of Moscow, reports "Interfax".

Tariel Mulukhov was detained on June 10, 2009, he is accused of kidnapping a businessman and extorting 500 thousand dollars for his release.

After the court trial in Moscow Tariel Mulukhov is expected to meet investigators from Spain where he is charged with laundering criminal profits and organizing a criminal group.

This is not the first court trial for Oniani. He got his first term in prison for robbery and theft at the age of 17. He has been in prison eight times and totally spent there 10 years.
