Terror act prevented in Kabardino-Balkaria

Employees of the OVD (Interior Division) of the Elborus District of Kabardino-Balkaria have prevented a terror act in the high-mountainous city of Tyrnyauz. This was reported by the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

According to the MIA, on June 4 in Tyrnyauz near the bridge across through mud-protection canal in Elborus Street a self-made explosive was revealed.

"It was planted n the area, where dozens dwelling houses are located; beside, the Federal Highway "Prokhladny-Azau" is nearby, running to the pre-Elborus area. It was decided to blow it up in situ; dwellers were evacuated, and the place was cordoned," the "Interfax-South" quotes the MIA spokesman.

The bomb with electric triggering housed into a metal container was stuffed with striking elements in the form of building dowels. Its capacity made up to 2.5 kilos in trotyl equivalent, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
