Three suspected militants liquidated in Vedeno District of Chechnya

Three suspected militants were killed in the mountains of the Vedeno District of the Chechen Republic. This was reported today to journalists by President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, who was during the last three days in the special operation area.

"At night, militiamen and agents of the DFSB (Department of the Federal Security Bureau) detected a group of militants in a large forest. Information about their possible presence in that area was available from the start of this week," said Mr Kadyrov. "Due to competently planned actions, we managed to set up secret ambushes. We gradually narrowed the ring and used megaphones to offer the IAF (illegal armed formation) members to lay down arms and surrender to the authorities. Intensive firearm fire was the answer. Several agents managed to approach the attackers from behind and suppress the fire points."

"Three bodies were found in the place of the skirmish; they are now identified," the "Interfax-South" quotes Kadyrov's words. The website of the President and Government of the Chechen Republic reports that weapons, ammunition, explosives, dressing materials and medicines were found there.
