Vladikavkaz residents demand to stop "Electrozink"

Residents of the capital of North Ossetia continue holding pickets with a demand to close the "Electrozink" factory. Another protest action held on June 9 had only nine participants, as the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

According to German Kulaev, an activist of the action, the picket was held not by the initiative group on the website "Odnoklassniki.Ru", as before, but "just by a group of citizens."

"We want to express our civil disagreement with the concluded amicable agreement and to draw attention of power agencies to the following facts," he said. "We have an audio record of a conversation with the head of the local "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision) Taimuraz Butaev, where he said that he was under pressure, but he didn't say who was pressing. We've addressed our letters to the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and asked them to investigate. So far, there's no reaction."

According to Ms Zuraeva, if no reactions follow from the FSB and the MIA, activists "will pass over to more resolute actions."

So far, Taimuraz Butaev, head of the "Rospotrebnadzor" of North Ossetia, made no comments on the statement of the protesters and the audio record.
