Calamity leaves 50,000 without electricity in Chechnya

The strongest downpour last night and today in the morning in Chechnya stopped electric power supplies to several dwelling settlements. Currently, repair teams try to restore them.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was reported at the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of Chechnya that in total the disaster left about 50,000 citizens without electricity.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 5 electricity supplies failed in two settlements of the mountainous Vedeno District of Chechnya, which was caused by an accident in a large forest, where a tree dropped and broke the line. The supply failure affected two major settlements of the district - Vedeno and Makhkety.
