Supreme Llama of Kalmykia asks Russia's MFA for proofs of charges against Dalai Lama

Telo Tulku Rinchope, Supreme Llama of Kalmykia, addressed his open letter to Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister, in the context of the refusal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia to give an entrance visa to Dalai Lama for visiting Russia. Mr Rinchope assures Mr Lavrov that Dalai Lama's relations with the Russian Buddhists have never had any political shading.

"China labels Dalai Lama as separatist, and Russia looks like flaccidly repeating the claim without going into details. But what are the proofs of all to these loud accusations announced today publicly from the podiums of both chambers of Russian parliament?" the Supreme Llama of Kalmykia asked.

An appeal was addressed to Russian MFA asking to issue a visa to the spiritual leader of Buddhists for visiting Russia. However, his entrance was rejected, which caused indignation of Kalmykian Buddhists. The MFA explained the refusal by the fact that Dalai Lama's arrival on the year of the 65th anniversary "of the joint with China" Russia's victory in World War II would injure the feelings of the Chinese people.
