In Georgia, a landslide cut off several villages

In Abasha region, west Georgia, the rivers Zana and Anasha overflowed their banks due to torrential rains and flooded the village of Sepieti. On 24 May, authorities declared an emergency in Abasha town.

In the village of Sepieti, 50 houses are damaged, crops, poultry, food supplies, which were stored in basements of houses, are destroyed. Rescuers evacuated villagers and they spent a night in a local school. Authorities consider rendering a financial assistance to the villagers.

In east Georgia, near Sharakhevi town of Tianetsky district, a landslide cut off three villages with 15 families from communication with central districts. Clean up work is in progress on the site. IA 'News-Georgia" informs.

In Kutaisi, one failed to open a rehabilitated stadium because of the flood, "Georgia Online" says.
