Adygea marks Memory Day of Caucasian War casualties

On May 21, Adygea held actions dedicated to the 146th anniversary of the end of the Caucasian War.

On that day, President of the republic Aslan Tkhakushinov addressed his compatriots and said that "the war that ended 146 years ago was the heaviest trial for all the nations who had lived in this land."

"Endless casualties, sufferings, bitterness of losses, ruined families and fates were the results of bloody battles, the memory about which is still painful in hearts of people of different nationalities and beliefs," said the President. This is our history; and we can't change it. We can and should think about the future."
Representatives of the leadership of Adygea, activists of public organizations, main confessions and intellectuals came to the State Philharmonic Society to commemorate the victims.

Then, a meeting-requiem took place at the building of the Philharmonic Society, after which all its participants went to watch the first show of the feature film "Circassian", filmed by Mukhadin Kandur, a native of Jordan and a Circassian by origin. Many residents of Adygea expressed their desire to visit the rally and watch the film.
