South Ossetia handed over a detainee from the village of Bershueti to Georgia

A citizen of Georgia Gocha Beridze (from another source - Berianidze) who was abducted, according to the Georgian side's statement, from the village of Bershueti in Gori district on 13 May and handed over by South Ossetia to the Georgian authorized persons.

The South-Ossetian KGB press service asserted that Beridze had been detained for illegal crossing of the Georgian-South-Ossetian border.

We would remind that the youth's relatives claimed Gocha Berianidze was abducted when collecting brushwood in the forest one kilometer away from his home village. They managed to find out his whereabouts in the Ossetian village of Khveduleti, location of the Russian military base. The young man was holding prisoner for the whole night and in the morning brought to Tskhinval by a Russian military helicopter.

"On 13 May 2010, in the population center Gdulet of Leningorsky district, South Ossetia, the Russian FSB frontier squad located in South Ossetia detained a citizen of Georgia Gocha Goderdzievich Beridze, born in1980, resident of the village of Bershueti of Gori district", the South-Ossetian KGB press service reported to RES Agency.

It was underlined that after establishing the illegal crossing of the Georgian-South-Ossetian border, citizen Beridze was handed over to the KGB border guard of South Ossetia.

On 14 May, on the Tskhinval court decision, for administrative violation under item 2 of Article 18.1 of the Administrative Violation Code of the Russian Federation, Beridze was committed to administrative expulsion from of South Ossetia, Rosbalt informed.

The Beridze family said the young man is seriously ill and if he is not freed, his health might be in serious danger.
