Investigation of Dymovskiy's criminal case stopped

The criminal case, initiated by the Investigatory Department (ID) for the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian ICPO (Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office) against the former militiaman Alexei Dymovskiy is stopped.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that on November 6, 2009, Militia Major Dymovskiy placed in the Internet two video appeals to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin telling about numerous malversations of militia bosses, in particular, heads of the GUVD (Chief Interior Department) of the city of Novorossisk. Later, some militiamen accused him of slander. Head of the GUVD for the Krasnodar Territory Militia General-Lieutenant Sergey Kucheruk made a decision to dismiss Alexei Dymovskiy.

As reported today by the ID's press service, "the case was stopped because of expiry of the limitation period for criminal prosecution. This reason is not rehabilitating one."

Earlier, the Investigatory Division for Novorossisk re-qualified the criminal case opened against Dymovskiy from part 3, Article 159, of the Russian Criminal Code ("Swindle through abuse of one's service position") into Article 292 ("Forgery by an official under motive of vested interest"), the "Interfax" reports.

A day before, on April 5, Dymovskiy's advocates appealed against the decision of Primorskiy District Court of Novorossisk obliging him to apologize to the GUVD bosses for his criticism and pay a total compensation of 100,000 roubles, the Kommersant-Online reports.
