Krasnodar: court returns Anastasia Denisova's case to prosecutor's office

The Lenin District Court of Krasnodar has held today already the fourth preliminary hearing on the case of Anastasia Denisova, head of the public organization named "ETnIKa". The court has ruled to return the case to the prosecutor's office for elimination of inquiry mistakes.

The state accuser Zhanna Karpenko has addressed her petition to Judge German Lonshakov on returning the case from the court to the prosecutor's office because of essential violations admitted during investigation.

The judge has satisfied the petition and returned case to public prosecutors for elimination of mistakes and contradictions in the materials of investigation.

Let us remind you that the prosecutor's office had accused Anastasia of "breaking the copyright and illegal use of copyright objects - software for her PC," and also "used nocuous software." The girl is under threat of six years of imprisonment. The charges were based on the conclusions of the experts from the public organization "Union of Criminalists", who studied computers for counterfeit.

However, even the belonging of this equipment to the "ETnIKa" was not proved by the investigation. The address where the search had been conducted was not reported by those engaged. In one document, a ROVD inspector asserts that the computers were confiscated in the Lenin Street, other documents specify the Frunze Street. The detectives have also failed to finally define the dates of the crime.

Ramil Ahmetgaliev, a lawyer from the AGORA Association, believes that the approach of the experts who were entrusted to examine the confiscated computers is rather doubtful.

Earlier, Marina Dubrovina, Ms Denisova's advocate, asked many times not to send the case to the court without clarifying the admitted violations. Anastasia asserts that her criminal prosecution has to do with her public activities.

Anastasia Denisova is still in Krasnodar under recognizance not to leave and has no right to disclose the materials of the case.
