Germany allots another sum of about one million euro as aid to Chechen refugees

The federal government announced its intention to allot about 1,000,000 euro as aid to Chechen refugees. The German Foreign Ministry reported at the end of the last week the International Red Cross would receive 500,000 euro.

Another sum of 433,200 euro is allotted by the non-government organization "World Vision Deutschland", which supports 7,400 pupils in the Urus-Martan district of Chechnya. Thus, the total sum that the German Foreign Ministry has allotted in 2003 to help Chechen refugees exceeds 1,800,000 euro.
