Treatment in prison hospital gives no relief to journalist Mushvig Guseinov

In Azerbaijan, health condition of imprisoned Mushvig Guseinov, journalist of the "Bizim Yol" (Our Way) newspaper, continues to worsen. In spite of his placement in mid-October from the colony to the specialized medical establishment of the Penitentiary Service for TB patients, his disease is progressing to the worse.

Sarvar Guseinov, Mushvig's brother, complained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that in these recent days the journalist has sharply grown thinner and weaker. "He needs highly-qualified medical aid, which can be rendered only in civil clinics," said Sarvar.

The press service of the Penitentiary System has confirmed that Mushvig Guseinov "has health problems." "However, he is taking intensive treatment under medical control at the specialized establishment, where inmates-TB patients serve their terms," said the spokesman.
