Verdict to "Forest Brothers" announced in Azerbaijan

Today in Azerbaijan, the Court for Grave Crimes has finished the process on the criminal case of the illegal armed formation (IAF) named "Forest Brothers", the members of which had been accused of terrorism and various crimes.

According to the investigation, the members of the IAF intended to provoke disorders in Azerbaijan aimed against the state order. Apart from other crimes, the bandits are also accused of committing the terror act in the "Abu-Bekr" Mosque in Baku, as a result of which 2 persons were lost and 15 more wounded.

The court, having found the defendants guilty under a number of articles of the Criminal Code, sentenced them to different imprisonment terms - from 2 to 15 years.

The announcement of the verdict took place practically without excesses; only convict Bashirov reacted to the verdict by shouting: "Meet you soon on Doomsday!" and "Allah damns you all!"
