South-Ossetian officials dissatisfied with Ergneti meeting

Merab Chigoev, deputy plenipotentiary representative of President of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement, finds the last meeting on incident-prevention, held on September 24 in Ergneti village, Gori District, in the Georgian-South-Ossetian border, fruitless.

The participants of the meeting agreed to investigate the explosion of the Georgian police car. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia, shortly before the start of the meeting, in the morning on September 24, a Georgian police car blew up on a time bomb in the course of patrolling near Dvani village, Karelian District, near South Ossetia.

"As to the car explosion, the mine had been allegedly planted on the neutral territory. The Georgian party states that in fact it is their territory, but it's really controlled by the Ossetian power agents. Actually, it's a neutral territory, it is controlled neither by us, nor by the Georgian party," said Mr Chigoev.

According to his story, the Ossetian party refused from meetings several times at all, because the Georgian counterparts refused to admit that they keep three citizens of South Ossetia.
