Kalmykia spent money for South Ossetia on rock festival

In Kalmykia, the inquiry has revealed that the money in the sum of 5.705 million roubles, raised for rendering help to the victims of the war in South Ossetia, was spent on holding a musical festival.

According to the spokesman of the MIA of Kalmykia, the money was raised as help to the victims of the Georgian-South-Ossetian conflict last August; the money was kept on the settlement account at the North-Caucasian branch of the Savings Bank of Russia in Stavropol, writes the ITAR-TASS.

"However, on May 8, the money in the sum of 5.705 million roubles was transferred to the public organization "Towards Jubilee of Kalmykia" on holding the musical ethno-rock-festival in Elista within the international youth forum "Kind Heart", the "Gazeta.Ru" quotes the MIA spokesman.
