Stavropol: boss of building company who deceived 350 would-be dwellers sentenced to 12 years in jail

The Promyshlenny District Court of Stavropol has found director of the building company LLC "Spas-XXI" and his two subordinates guilty of a swindle and causing 200-million roubles damage to citizens.

Let us remind you that deceived interest-holders of the Stavropol Territory held repeated protest actions, trying to defend their housing rights. Thus, in summer 2007, deceived shareholders of the building company LLC "Spas-XXI" setup a tent camp at the site of construction-in-progress in the 45th Parallel Street in Stavropol. The action lasted for 28 days. Then, the protesters were assured that the city administration was drafting a bill on deceived interest-holders of the Stavropol Territory.

By decision of court of August 25, director of the company Vasily Akinin was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment with serving his term punishment in a minimum security colony. Yuri Isaev, head of the commercial-contractual division of this company was sentenced to 9 years, and chief accountant Irina Losinskaya - to six years of the same security colony.

A source in the press service of the district court explained that with account of a great number of civil suits (about 350 victims figured in the case), the court did not appoint any additional punishment in the form of penalties, but satisfied civil suits of some claimants to the building company, who demanded compensation of material damage.
