Adygea celebrates the Repatriate's Day

By returning 11 years ago of Adugs-refugees from Kosovo Russia had improved its image in the world, as the cases, when expelled nations are brought home by the governments of the countries, from where they had been expelled, are unique, as stated by the first President of Adygea Aslan Dzharimov during celebrating on August 1 of the Repatriate's Day in Maikop, the capital of Adygea.

In the opinion of Mr Dzharimov, it would have been impossible to carry out the return without the help of the federal government.

On August 1, the Repatriate's Day brought together about three thousand persons to the square in front of the National Museum. Traditionally, a rally-concert was held in Maikop, but for the first time the celebrators laid flowers to the erected monument to victims of the Caucasian War, as reported by the "Natpress".

Arambiy Khapai, Chairman of the "Adyge Hase" of Adygea, has noted that there are not so many reasons for optimism on this celebratory day. As he said, when they talk about repatriation of Adygs, it should be targeted at not only within one or several republics, but also in those places, from where they had been expelled. He wished the audience the fastest return of their compatriots and their integration into one republic.

In his turn, Yakhya Stash, chairman of the public organization "Adaptation House of Repatriates" (AHR) told, in particular, that this year more than 40 foreign Adygs have started the procedure of receiving Russian citizenship. In the near future, some 50 persons should arrive from Turkey and about 20 persons from Syria.
