Thrashed editor of "Corruption and Crime" dies in Rostov

Vyacheslav Yaroshenko, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Corruption and Crime", who was beaten by unknown persons in the end of April, has died in Rostov-on-Don.

Mr Yaroshenko was found unconscious in the morning on April 30 at an entrance of his house. He was hospitalized with a skull trauma and brain damage. He underwent two surgeries, and was in coma for five days. On May 5, he was disconnected from the artificial breath machine.

The journalist was in coma for some days and spent a month in hospital. Then, Yaroshenko was discharged, but some days later he felt bad and was again brought to the resuscitation ward. One of these days, he was operated on again, but doctors could not save him, as the "Novye Izvestia" writes. The journalist has died, without regaining consciousness, in the same hospital, where he was delivered at night of April 30, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.

Yaroshenko's colleagues assert that he was attacked in direct context with his professional work, while law enforcers assert that there was no attack, and Yaroshenko had got to hospital because of a home accident.
According to Sergey Sleptsov, deputy editor-in-chief of the newspaper, local militia still refuses to open a criminal case, insisting that Yaroslav Yaroshenko was traumatized when he fell sown the stairs, as reported by the website "Kasparov.Ru".
