Lady-acting Mayor of Kislovodsk wounded by radio-triggered bomb

As reported by the press service of the Investigatory Department for the Stavropol Territory of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation, the explosion near the building of the administration of the city of Kislovodsk, which wounded Natalia Lutsenko, acting Mayor of the city, was allegedly caused by a radio-triggered bomb.

According to Ekaterina Danilova, assistant of senior inspector of the Department, now Lutsenko's health condition is estimated as stable. "The victims of the explosion are Natalia Lutsenko, a candidate for Kislovodsk City Mayor, two workers of her electoral office and an occasional passer-by. All of them were brought to the city hospital, and the doctors find their health condition as stable," she said.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the wounded Natalia Lutsenko was operated on.

Gennady Popkov, Chairman of the Public Organization "Union of Kislovodsk Pensioners", believes that the attempt on Lutsenko was an act of pre-election struggle.

We remind you that the election of Kislovodsk Mayor was appointed on May 31, after the previous Mayor of the city-resort Vitaly Biryukov has notified Valery Gaevskiy, Governor of the Stavropol Territory, about his decision to resign before term. In January, it became known that Biryukov, who was dismissed in the context of accusations of abuse of official powers, voluntarily appeared before the inspector. Before that, he hid from the investigation and was announced into search.
