Roman Mamedov, 39, a resident of Baku, has recorded a video with threats against LGBT activists, after which he was detained by the police; and a criminal case was opened against him for hooliganism, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (NIA) has reported. Mamedov's actions can be qualified much harder than hooliganism, Elchin Sadygov, a lawyer, believes.

The Armenia's General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) has come up with an initiative to create a control body for information flows like the Russian "Roskomnadzor" (Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media). On July 5, a court in Grozny extended the arrest of Zarema Musaeva, accused of assaulting a law enforcer, until September 12. An ambulance was called for Musaeva during the trial, but doctors concluded that she could take part in the court session, her son, Abubakar Yangulbaev, has informed.

The Azerbaijani troops shelled the border village of Khachik, and a car of the head of the rural community was damaged, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reports today. The Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan called the information not corresponding to the reality.

A mass fight, which occurred in the town of Kovdor in the Murmansk Region and during which four persons were injured, has no interethnic background, members of the Azerbaijani community of the Murmansk Region say. Arthur Gazinyan, an MP from the "Aiastan" oppositional faction, has announced refusal of his mandate. The faction has excluded any political disagreements, treating Gazinyan's decision as a tactical step.
