Woman from Kabardino-Balkaria states that FSB agent took away her car
Rita Kanametova, a resident of the city of Baksan in Kabardino-Balkaria has addressed her complaint to the prosecutor's office of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) and human rights organizations saying that a person, who presented himself as an employee of the FSB Department for Kabardino-Balkaria, confiscated her car BMW-520. Later it appeared that there is no such employee in the Department.

Nine fire victims of Volgograd Region are still in hospital

International climb on Mount Kazbek starts in North Ossetia
Today at midday, the Manezh Square of Vladikavkaz, the capital of North Ossetia, was the venue of the farewell ceremony of the participants of the ascent on Mount Kazbek. In total, the international expedition is 200 persons strong, including climbers from all Russian regions, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Tajikistan and South Ossetia.

In Ingushetia, mother defends her daughter's right to wear hijab at school
Lydia Gomkargieva, principal of School No. 3 of the city of Karabulak in Ingushetia, has not allowed a five-form schoolgirl, as her mother reports, to attend school in a hijab. Another higher school pupil was not let to lessons in a headscarf and a long school uniform. The ministry of general and vocational training of Ingushetia has sent a special commission to this school.

Yesterday, on September 2, a traditional day of silence was held in Beslan: during the whole day people kept coming to School No. 1 and memorial cemetery in "City of Angels" to pay tribute of memory to victims of the terror act in September 2004.

Defendant Budtuev in Nalchik attack case will not returned to SIZO
The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation has upheld the decision of the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria on changing the freedom restriction regime for Kazbek Budtuev, a defendant in the case dealing with the attack on power agencies of Nalchik on October 13, 2005. After five years in SIZO (pre-trial prison) he was transferred into house arrest. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it by advocate Liza Shak.

European MPs meet human rights activists in Ingushetia
On September 2, the office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" in Nazran hosted a meeting of human rights activists and applicants to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) with members of the European Parliament. Akhilgov: Ingush alternative parliament rejects contacts with authorities
In Ingushetia, members of the alternative parliament - Mekhk-Kkhela - never tried to contact the republic's leadership, said Kaloy Akhilgov, press secretary of President of Ingushetia. Volgograd Region: ICPO suspects officials of negligence in relation to natural fires

Hurricane damages hundreds of dwelling houses in Kabardino-Balkaria
As a result of the hurricane that fell last night on the republic, hundreds of houses and electric networks were damaged in the Prokhladny District of Kabardino-Balkaria. As reported by the local department of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies, over 10,000 residents remained without electricity, and two persons were taken to hospital with traumas.
